Eagles Suffer Double-Header Setback Against Howard Payne

Game One Overview
Brownwood, Texas-Howard Payne University opened the weekend series with ten runs in the first inning and the Eagles never recovered as the Yellow Jackets took a 20-6 game one win. Cole Clark and Dru Didway had RBI in the second inning and Juan Munoz had an RBI in the third to total four runs, but the Yellow Jackets plated seven runs in the bottom of the third to put the game away. Brice Cagle and Clark would later have RBI in the fifth inning. Howard Payne recorded 19 hits and the Eagles committed six errors. Clark and Munoz finished 3-for-4 at the plate.

Game Two Overview
The Eagles rallied late in game two but still came up short 12-10. The Eagles opened the game with three runs behind an Ethan Cash RBI single and a two-run double from Munoz. The Jackets responded with five runs in the third, two in the third and four in the fourth to hold a commanding 12-4 lead. Nicholas Bennett homered in the sixth and Isaac Price had an RBI single in the same inning. The Eagles mounted a comeback in the top of the ninth. With one out, Taber Childs homered. Cash followed with a double and Munoz tripled him in to narrow the deficit to 12-9. Brooks Boshers then singled in Munoz. But the Eagles' threat ended with a pair of fly outs. The Eagles pounded out 18 hits, with Clark and Munoz recording three hits. Munoz totaled three RBI. Five other players had multi-hit games.
