ETBU Men Slip Past Eagles

Clarksville, Ark.-East Texas Baptist slipped past the Eagles 72-64 after finishing off the final 5:34 of the game on a 19-8 run Thursday night in American Southwest play.

Ozarks (6-12, 3-11 ASC) led 56-53 at the 5:53 mark, but East Texas Baptist (14-4, 9-4 ASC) drilled a three-pointer to the tie the contest and ignite the run. Tiger reserve forward Ahnre Gray scored 10 of the Tigers 19 points during the final stretch to secure the game. Dylan Gray did hit a three-pointer with 40 seconds remaining in the game to close the gap to 68-64, but the Tigers were able to connect on four free throws and then hold Ozarks scoreless.
   
Ozarks led 31-27 at the half, but shot 36 percent from the field in the second half. East Texas Baptist answered in the second half by hitting 58 percent of its shots.

scored 19 points to lead Ozarks. Josh Berard had 16 points, while Kelby Robinson and Ted Beard IV had 12 and 10 points, respectively.
