Eagles Explode For 51 Second Half Points In Win

Clarksville, Ark.- The University of the Ozarks men's basketball team exploded for 51 second half points to overcome a halftime deficit Wednesday night and secure a 79-74 win over Haskell Indian Nations University.

After a slow start in the first half, Ozarks (7-11) shot 55 percent from the field in the second half to fuel the comeback. The Eagles hit 32 percent in the first half and trailed 37-28 at intermission. Ozarks started the second half on a 10-0 run, which included a Josh Ferrell three-pointer to open play. Pete Barber would also drill a shot from long-range to pull Ozarks within one point. Jerome Luster nailed a three-pointer to give Ozarks a 41-39 lead with 15:21 left. Luster then converted a four-point play to add to the lead. Haskell (5-18) battled back to cut the deficit to 64-62 with less than five minutes remaining and then took the lead. Josh Berard would hit a jumper to give Ozarks the lead for good with three minutes left.

Berard and Jace Richardson scored 20 points. Dylan Gray poured in 17 points and 13 rebounds. Luster finished with 10 points.

Ozarks will host Belhaven University January 28.
