THE BASICS
The Eagles took NCAA II Arkansas Tech University to overtime only to have the Wonder Boys finish with a 64-59 win on New Year's Day. The game for the Eagles was an exhibition, while the game counted as Tech's regular season opener. The Eagles had the last possession in regulation with just over three seconds but couldn't capitalize. Tech tied the contest 57-57 with 1:05 remaining to push the game into overtime. Leading by two points, Cejay Mann drilled a three-pointer with 2:28 remaining in overtime to take momentum of the game. The Eagles scored just two points in overtime. Bryson Johnson capped a strong game with ten field goal and 25 points. The Eagles hit only 6-of-11 from the free throw line, but the Eagles outhustled the Wonder Boys the entire game with 24 points in the paint against a much bigger opponent.
