THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark.– The Eagles snapped a three-game conference losing skid with a big 91-88 win over Concordia University Texas Saturday. The Eagles clung to a 44-40 halftime advantage and let go of the lead just once in the second half. That came at the 13:45 mark, but Kyron Powell hit a big three-pointer to give the Eagles a 60-58 lead. The Eagles then never let go of the lead again even though Concordia did tie the game with less than five minutes remaining. But Powell answered again with a clutch three-pointer for a 80-77 advantage. His layup with 3:42 remaining pushed the Eagles' lead to 82-77. The fast-paced game saw the Eagles play eight players and Concordia play 16. The Tornados hit just 12-of-23 (52%) from the free throw line. The Eagles scored 27 points off free throws for 84 percent. Four Eagles reached double figures in scoring with Kamren Roelke leading the way with 22. Grayson Nix followed with 21.
