THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles hung tough with the Texas Dallas Comets all night but didn't have enough in the end as the Comets found a way to win 71-64 in conference play Thursday night. The Comets clung to a 31-25 lead at halftime and never relinquished the lead in the second half. The Eagles did pull within one point at the 14:04 mark. But the Comets later went on a 7-0 run to establish a 53-43 advantage. Kamren Roelke drove to the basket for a layup to trim the deficit to 67-62 and Dillon Cheater hit a shot to make it 67-64 with less than a minute to go. But the Comets made four consecutive free throws down the stretch. Grayson Nix scored 14 points to lead the Eagles.
