Clay Target Team Opens Season At Bass Pro Shops Shooting Academy

Ridgedale, Mo.-The women's and men's clay target team finished as runner-up at the Drury University Panther Classic held at the Bass Pro Shops Shooting Academy in Ridgedale, Missouri, September 18-19.

In addition to Ozarks and Drury, the two-day event included Lindenwood University, Missouri Valley College, Hannibal-LaGrange and Missouri S&T. 

The Eagles tied for first in the 5-stand event with 235 targets hit. Individually, Jacob Tucker won the 5-stand competition by scoring 49. In high wobble, Wyatt McCaghren tied for first with a score of 50. With a total of 361, Keaton Little, Clayton Villines and Tucker were among the top shooters at the competition. Only three other competitors had higher totals.  In all, the Eagles had six shooters with a score over 350.

In sporting clays, Lane Klohn had the team's top score with 93. Little was second on the team with 90. In skeet, Mason Malin was the team's top finisher with 74. Little was second with 73. In trap, McCaghren was the team's top finisher with 73. Tucker placed second with 72. In double wobble, Amos Scott was the team's top finisher with 41. Little placed second with 40.

The Eagles will next compete in the SCTP College Nationals at Marengo, Ohio, October 7-9.
