Maryville College Edges Eagles In Overtime

Maryville, Tenn.-Maryville College found the back of the net in the second overtime to pick up a 2-1 win over the Eagles Saturday in Maryville, Tenn.

Ozarks (1-3-1) scored a goal when Bryce Young buried a shot early in the match, but Maryville eventually tied it up at 1-1 to send the non-conference affair into overtime.

"This game was certainly a challenge for our young guys being their first real road trip," said Head Coach Matt Torok.  "We started the game strong and got an early goal, but just couldn't eliminate some mistakes down the stretch.  We faced a seasoned and experienced Maryville squad that is consistently at the top of the USA South Conference and it showed in overtime.  We need to learn from this and figure out a way to finish games off.  They fought to the end, but just couldn't find a way to capitalize on our early goal."

Ozarks will travel to Conway to face Hendrix College September 17.
