Eagles Net 2-0 Road Win Over Hendrix College

Conway, Ark.-The Eagles scored a goal in the first half and added another in the second half to secure a 2-0 victory over in-state rival Hendrix College Wednesday night in Conway.

Bryce Young scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 4th minute on a pass from Thomas Mills to give the Eagles (2-3-1) an early 1-0 lead. Shaun Keane gave Ozarks a 2-0 advantage when he scored in the 58th minute. Young and Tony Ramos received assists.

"We were able to get off to a quick start, allowing us another opportunity to mature in terms of closing out a match," said head coach Matt Torok.  "Alex Ross played a major role in possessing the ball with Shaun Keane and starting the attack.  Austin Benner had a great game in goal as did our back four. We had solid performances all around with some good bench play from Tony Ramos, Victor Garcia, Matt Weaver and Austin Hedgpeth. It's great to see the team step up and perform so well in what was for many their first introduction to the Ozarks-Hendrix in-state rivalry."

Young finished the match with three shots on goal and Ozarks totaled 12 shots.

Austin Benner recorded eight saves in goal to notch a shutout.

Ozarks will host Sewanee September 21 at noon.
