Matt Weaver Nets Game-Winning Goal In 73rd Minute

Ozarks (3-3-1) would penetrate the Sewanee (3-5-0) defense late in the second half to set up Weaver's goal. Thomas Mills gave Weaver the ball on the right flank, and Weaver did the rest as he ripped a shot 20 yards out past Sewanee goalkeeper Conrad Bandoroff in the 73rd minute. Weaver's second goal of the season proved to be the game-winner as Ozarks' defense then held off Sewanee the rest of the match. Sewanee did get a nice look with just 30 seconds left, but Ozarks goalkeeper Austin Benner made a leaping save to keep the shutout intact. In a rainy first half, Ozarks had a couple of chances to score, including when Bandoroff was caught out of position and Bryce Young sent one just wide in the 18th minute.

Statistically, both teams were nearly even as Sewanee held a slight 10-9 shots advantage. Sewanee did have three more corner kicks than Ozarks (8-5). Each goalkeeper recorded five saves.  It was Benner's third shutout of the season.
