Men’s Soccer Team’s Run Comes To An End In ASC Tournament Semi-Finals

Richardson, Texas-The U of O men's soccer team had its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss against Hardin-Simmons University in the American Southwest Conference Tournament semi-finals Saturday.

Ozarks ends the season with a 10-8-2 overall record under first-year head coach Matt Torok.

Hardin-Simmons (8-4-2) took control of the match in the first half behind a hat trick from forward Matt Pitcock, and never allowed Ozarks to gain any momentum. Pitcock opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a free kick, and then followed with a goal in the 37th and 42nd minutes. The Cowboys went on to hold a 11-1 shots advantage in the first half.

Hardin-Simmons scored early in the second half to hold a 4-0 advantage. The Eagles would eventually play a man down in the second half after receiving a red card, but it didn't matter as Hardin-Simmons already built a sizable lead.

The Eagles totaled six shots in the match, while the Cowboys tallied 21.

Ozarks will return the majority of its starters next season under Torok, who started as many as seven freshmen during the year. The Eagles qualified for the tournament for the second consecutive year and 12th time in program history.

Shaun Keane and Travis Leach were named to the All-Tournament Team.
