Eagles Win Fourth In A Row Behind Weaver, Young Goals

Clarksville, Ark.-Matt Weaver scored early in the first half and Bryce Young netted a goal in the opening seconds of the second half to give Ozarks a 2-0 win over American Southwest Conference opponent LeTourneau University Saturday.

It was Ozarks (5-3-2, 2-1-0 ASC) second shutout of the season.

"This was another tough ASC match that we found a way to find the net and keep it out of ours," said head coach Matt Torok. "I'm real proud of the team effort today and all weekend.  Bryce came on and provided a huge spark and fantastic breakaway goal to give us some cushion in the second half.  Bryan Lemus provided some stability in the second half in possessing and winning balls in the midfield. His work rate was high all over the field and he really gave us what we needed in the second half to get the victory."

Weaver quickly gave the Eagles momentum in front of a large crowd with a goal in the 7th minute on a great through ball from Thomas Mills. Weaver collected it at his feet and ripped a clean shot to give Ozarks a 1-0 advantage. Ozarks posted four corner kicks and four shots in the first half. In the second half, Ozarks took the match's momentum with Young's goal in the 46th minute. Ozarks was able to secure the shutout behind the strong play of goalkeeper Austin Benner. LeTourneau threatened in the waning moments, but Benner fought off a pair of shots with less than five seconds to play.
