21 Student-Athletes Land On Fall ASC All-Academic Team

Clarksville, Ark.- 21 University of the Ozarks student-athletes have been named to the 2017 Fall American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team, it was announced by the league office January 22.

To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive semesters) at their institution. They must also have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as certified at the conclusion of the academic semester in which the ASC sport championship is held.

The women's cross country team had three athletes on the team: Stephanie Alderson, a senior Elementary Education/English major from Clarksville, Ark.;, Grasyn Langley, a senior biology major from Garland, Texas; and Hannah Smith, a sophomore accounting major from Blue Eye, Mo.

Kole Smith, a senior biology major from Cane Hill, Ark., represented the men's cross country team.

The men's soccer team placed 11 athletes on the team: Cade Coggin, a junior health science major from Memphis, Tenn.; Derric Davis, a junior environmental studies major from Mesquite, Texas; Duston Furtick, a junior biology major from Kaufman, Texas; Layne Garcia, a senior management major from Fort Worth, Texas; Nathan Hodge, a junior biology major from Olive Branch, Miss.; Nick Johnson, a senior biology major from Harrison, Ark.; Robert Pope, a junior psychology major from Fort Smith, Ark.; Bradley Rice, a junior health science major from Fort Smith, Ark.; Thomas Ross, a junior mathematics major from Heath, Texas; Chance Schultz, a senior management major from Claremore, Okla.; and Manny Torres, a junior marketing major from Keller, Texas.

The women's soccer team placed six athletes on the team: Olivia Allard, a junior biology major from Rogers, Ark.; Cristin Connor, a junior biology major from Gunter, Texas; Brittanie Gragg, a senior health science major from Huntsville, Ark.; Falon Hanson, a junior business administration major from Fayetteville, Ark.; Brittany Holt, a sophomore biology major from Mansfield, Texas; and Rebecca McCarron, a sophomore health science major from Covington, La.
