Men’s Soccer Trio Named To USC Scholar All-South Region Team

The University of the Ozarks men?s soccer team had three players named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region Team, it was announced Monday.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's soccer team had three players named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region Team, it was announced Monday.

Senior midfielder Miguel Reyes was named to the Second Team, while senior defender Bradley Rice and senior midfielder Thomas Ross were named to the Third Team.

Reyes, a native of Canyon, Texas, was named to the All-Conference First Team in 2018 after scoring two goals and recording five assists. A two-time All-Conference performer, Reyes is a member of the American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team as a Health Science major.

Rice, a native of Fort Smith, Ark., was named to the All-Conference Third Team after leading the Eagles' defense throughout 2018. He also scored two goals during the season. Rice finishes his career as a three-time ASC All-Academic honoree and a two-time All-Conference player. He is a Health Science major.

Ross, a native of Heath, Texas, was recently named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® First Team. Ross was named to the All-Conference Second Team in 2018 behind an eight assist and two goal effort. He was named to the USC Scholar All-South Region Team in 2017 and finishes his career as a two-time All-Conference performer and a three-time ASC All-Academic honoree.

Criteria for the honor includes a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career, a starter in more than 50 percent of all games and a junior or above in academic standing.
