Logan Valestin Named To USC Scholar All-South Region Team

Logan Valestin was named to the USC Scholar All-Region Team.

Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks men's soccer goalkeeper Logan Valestin was named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-South Region Team, it was announced Monday (December 16).

Valestin, a native of Bryant, Ark., made the All-Region First Team for his outstanding efforts in the classroom and on the pitch. A junior, Valestin was named to the All-Conference First Team this season after starting in all 19 matches. He ranked third in the conference in shutouts with five. He was fifth in goals against average (1.18) and fourth in saves (76). He recorded two saves on penalty kicks in the playoffs to help the Eagles advance to the tournament semi-finals and was named to the ASC All-Tournament Team following his playoff performance. He was named ASC Player of the Week once during the season and is a two-time All-Conference performer. He is a Biomedical Science major.
     
Criteria for the honor includes a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career, a starter in more than 50 percent of all games and a junior or above in academic standing.
