THE BASICS
An inspired LeTourneau University team came out with a 2-1 win Thursday in the American Southwest Conference regular season finale for the Eagles. Two goals are the most allowed in a conference match this season by the Eagles. Santi De La Torre scored a nice goal in the 27th minute to give LeTourneau a 1-0 lead. The Eagles scored ten minutes later when Jonathan Julmiste headed in a ball off a corner kick from Kevin Avalos. But LeTourneau answered with another goal before halftime and that would be all the visitors needed. The Eagles created opportunities to score in the second half on seven shots. But none of those shots found the back of the net. Avalos had a clean shot in the 73rd minute in the box that the goalkeeper was able to stop. All seven of the Eagles shots in the second half resulted in saves by the goalkeeper.
