Swim Team Finishes Inaugural Season Strong At Conference Championships

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women's and men's swim team completed its inaugural season at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships over the weekend and saw significant improvement from its first meet.

Head Coach David DeGeus was pleased with his team's effort at the conference championships.

"All of our swimmers dropped massive amounts of time in every race," he said.  "The team represented our school well with good sportsmanship. The SCAC directed a great championship and we are proud to be part of this conference. I am excited to return next year with a bigger roster and build on the success of this season".

Jake Sawyer was the first men's swimmer to put points on the board for Ozarks, advancing to the first ever individual consolation finals for the Eagles. The women's team represented the program with final's finishes in four relays. The women's team also dropped a full minute in their 400 Medley Relay, and in the process broke their own school record.

Ozarks hosted two meets during its inaugural season under DeGeus.
