Records Broken On Day Two Of SCAC Championships

San Antonio, Texas-The women's and men's swim teams set numerous records on day two of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Wednesday in San Antonio. 

As a team, the men's team is in sixth place, while the women are in seventh place. The Eagles continue action at the SCAC Championships tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. 

In the women's 200 freestyle relay, the Eagles set a new program record swimming a 1:48.08. The team consisted of Catherine Wellborn, Skylar Frazier, Shalley Coffin and Rosie Wade. Wade set a new program record in the 500 free swimming a 5:22.44 for tenth place. In the 50 freestyle, Wade posted a time of 26.32 for fifteenth place while Wellborn followed with a time of 26.58 for sixteenth place. 

In men's racing, the team of Josh Collins, Nicolai Van Zyl, Michael Walkine and Jacob Jones set the new program record in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:28.62. Gustavo Almaraz, Nicolas White, Nicolas Dunsworth and Bailey Butler posted a time of 1:39.89 for fourteenth place. Jones swam a 4:50.10 in the 500 free to place tenth.
