Eagles Finish Behind Hendrix College At Classic

Nicolai Van Zyl and the Eagles finished second at the Hendrix College Classic.

Conway, Ark. - The men's swim and dive team traveled to Conway for the Hendrix College Relays and Hendrix College Classic over the weekend.

In the Hendrix Classic, the Eagles came up short 463-331.

In one-meter diving, Michael Vargas scored 110.60 to win the event. Vargas also won the three-meter diving event with a score of 102.55. In the 200 medley relay, the Eagles placed second with a time of 1:45.49. In the 1000 free, Wiley Grantham finished second with a time of 11:35.79. In the 200 free, Tyler Hamrick was second (2:00.25), Isaiah Dial was third (2:01.74) and Nicolas White was fifth (2:13.44). Ethan Spillers won the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.06. Tyler Young placed sixth with a time of 2:36.50. Spillers broke the school record and won the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.54. Dial placed fourth with a time of 2:25.26. In the 100 free, Nicolai Van Zyl placed third (50.54). In the 200 back, Hamrick placed second (2:12.19), White placed fifth (2:34.50) and Tyler Young placed sixth (2:38.61). In the 500 free, Grantham was third with a time of 5:40.58. Van Zyl placed second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:24.69. In the 400 free relay, the Eagles placed third (4:07.32).
