Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks freshman Jonah Martinez was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Men's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by ASC Media Relations Director Jimmy Glenn.
    
Martinez, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles over the weekend. Martinez netted a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Blue Mountain College in singles to start the week. He then posted a 6-2, 6-4 win against Schreiner and a 6-0, 6-0 win against Centenary (La.). He teamed with Cole Lankford in No. 3 doubles to earn an 8-1 win over Blue Mountain and an 8-0 win over Centenary.

He is a graduate of Timber Creek High School.
