Four Men’s Tennis Players Receive All-Conference Honors

Clarksville, Ark.-Four University of the Ozarks men's tennis players received All-Conference honors from the American Southwest Conference, it was announced Thursday (May 11) by the ASC.

Freshman doubles partners Jonah Martinez and Cole Lankford earned First Team All-East Division honors at No. 3 doubles. Additionally, Martinez made the All-East Second Team at No. 6 singles. The doubles tandem of Dillon Murray and Jacob Organ made the All-East Second Team at No. 1 doubles.

Martinez, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, posted a team-best 13-5 record in singles and went 3-1 against league opponents. His 13 wins give him the second-most in program history for a season. Martinez opened spring play with four consecutive singles wins. He was named ASC Player of the Week twice during the season. Lankford, a native of Knob Noster, Mo., and Martinez went a team-best 12-7 in doubles play. The duo now owns the second-highest winning percentage (.632) in program history. They went 3-1 in conference play together.

Murray, a senior from West Helena, Ark., and Organ, a junior from Burkburnett, Texas, went 3-9 together in doubles play. Murray posted four wins overall in doubles action. Organ had five overall wins in doubles. The duo finished the spring season strong winning three of their final four matches. Organ now has 19 career doubles wins, while Murray has 11.

Ozarks qualified for the American Southwest Conference Tournament for the fourth consecutive season, two of which came under head coach Cullen Dees.
