Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior Spencer Turner was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (February 13).

Turner, a native of Pearcy, Ark., posted three straight dominating singles wins over the weekend in Austin, Texas. He started the weekend off with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Victor Garcia from Sul Ross State at No. 4 singles. He came back the next day to pick up a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 4 position over David Dingle from Howard Payne University, and then earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 against Clayton Hernandez from Concordia University Texas. He teamed with Reid Birch to post a 8-6 win over Sul Ross State at No. 1 doubles. He and Birch kept winning as they posted a 8-5 win over Howard Payne the same day.

Turner has been a member of the ASC All-Academic Team during his career at Ozarks.

Ozarks will play in Conway against John Brown University and Hendrix College February 17.
