Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore Nathan Rankin was named the American Southwest Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Rankin, a native of Plano, Texas, had a ninth-place finish at the 5K UCA Cross Country Challenge, running a 16:53.7 on Saturday. He finished behind seven NCAA Division I runners and one from a NAIA institution, helping the Eagles to a fifth-place team finish. Rankin won the ASC individual championships last season.

Ozarks will compete in the Chile Pepper Festival September 22.
