No. 18 Texas Dallas Takes 10-1 Win In Softball Action

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks softball team was unable to register hits when it had runners in scoring position as the No. 18 Texas Dallas Comets handed the Eagles a 10-1 loss Thursday in American Southwest Conference play.

The two teams were battling in a low scoring game until the fifth inning when Texas Dallas (27-8, 19-6 ASC) scored four times. Brittany Perkins did most of the damage with a three-run homer. Ozarks (6-26, 4-24 ASC) wasn't without its opportunities as it loaded the bases two times in the game. In the bottom of the fourth, the Eagles loaded the bases, but Texas Dallas was able to strand the runners. Ozarks did the same in the sixth, but this time it was able to push across a run when Laken Gray was hit by a pitch. The Comets later added four runs in the seventh. The Eagles left 11 runners on base. The Eagles recorded two hits, while Texas Dallas had 11. Hannah Oler (3-15) took the loss.

Ozarks will finish its series tomorrow with a double-header beginning at noon. Tomorrow will also be "Senior Day" for the team's three seniors, who will be honored following game two.
