GAME ONE
Overview:
The Eagles came up with a huge win against Howard Payne on Saturday 7-5. Senior pitcher Jaela Martin came out with a fire Saturday especially after taking the first loss on Friday afternoon. Martin did not allow a run to score in her win against the Yellow Jackets.

"I wanted to come in today with a mindset of redemption. I was able to get my chance and I came in to get it done," said Martin.

It was a great day for the senior group of Eagles. Brittney Dean, starting left fielder, kept the Eagles in the game with her defense and came up big at the plate. Dean was 0-2 on the day when she jacked a ball passed the right fielder to score two runs while getting a triple for herself.

"Since struggling most of the series, I knew I needed to relax, get out of my head, and do what I needed to do at the plate in order to keep the rally going and bring my teammates across the plate," said Dean.

Another senior came in clutch on Saturday as well. Sydney Key gave the Eagles the lead with a shot to centerfield while earning a double for herself.

"I told myself the pitcher was done winning and that it was my turn," said Key.

The freshmen didn't go unnoticed either as Allyson Fultz and Blaise English both led the team in RBI's.

"After losing game two yesterday in extra innings, I knew this group was going to come out ready to play today.  We battled from the first pitch to the very last.  I am proud of every single one of the girls today as it took the entire team to get this win. I am looking forward to seeing what this group can achieve," said Head Coach Denise Godwin.
