Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks Head Women's Basketball Coach Carl Ramsey turned to one of the program's top players to fill his assistant coaching position, hiring former standout Ashley Hipps.
    
Hipps played from 2012-16 for Ramsey and capped an outstanding career by earning the university's Female Athlete of the Year her senior season. That season she was among the most productive players in the American Southwest Conference (ASC) leading the league in assists (4.8) while ranking fourth in scoring (17.2). A point guard, Hipps was sixth among ASC players in three-point percentage (30%) and seventh in free throw percentage (76%). She finished the regular season ranked twentieth in NCAA III in three-pointers per game (2.8). She was named to the ASC All-East Second Team in 2015-16 and ASC Honorable Mention following the 2014-15 season.

"I am excited to have Ashley back in our program," said Ramsey. "She understands what we want in a student-athlete. One of her strongest assets is her recognition of the game. As a player, she knew exactly what was going on and was a floor general. She had a coaches' mentality. She was a model NCAA Division III student-athlete. She helped the program grow and develop, and I'm excited she is back to continue that."

She was voted the HeroSports.com HERO of the Week once during her collegiate career. She ranks fourth in program history with 349 career assists. Hipps was a member of the ASC All-Academic Team three times and helped the program to a pair of post-season appearances. She was also named to the ASC All-Freshman Team.

At Greenland High School, she was named the Most Valuable Player of the State Tournament her senior season.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude in health science/psychology. She was given the Outstanding Student award for health science her senior season.
