Eagles Outlast McMurry For Conference Win

The Eagles captured a win over McMurry in their conference opener behind the play of Kerigan Bradshaw.

THE BASICS
The Eagles opened the conference season with a big 72-60 win over McMurry University Monday night. Leading by only three points heading into the fourth quarter and then trailing by one point with 4:45 remaining, Savannah Kate Smith ignited a 7-1 run with three jumpers to give the Eagles a 65-60 advantage. Zhajani Wright hit a big shot with 1:37 left to give the Eagles a 68-60 cushion. Smith capped the game with two free throws with less than 20 seconds to go. Freshman Kerigan Bradshaw had a big night off the bench for the Eagles as she scored 17 points on a 6-of-8 shooting performance from the field. Bradshaw also pulled down four rebounds and dished out three assists. Smith and Delanei Stephens scored 14 points.
