Clarksville, Ark.-Under first-year head coach Kourtni Williams, the University of the Ozarks women's basketball team has qualified for the American Southwest Championship Tournament and will face Hardin-Simmons University February 21 at 12:00 p.m. in Belton, Texas, in the quarterfinals.

It is the first post-season appearance for the Eagles (13-12, 9-7 ASC) since the 2014-15 season. Ozarks will go into the tournament as the No. 3 seed from the East Division, while Hardin-Simmons (18-7, 11-5 ASC) will be the No. 2 seed out of the West Division. The Eagles defeated Hardin-Simmons 80-72 in December after trailing by as many as 15 points. Williams has guided the Eagles to the most conference wins since the 2013-14 season. And, the Eagles have posted their first winning season since the 2011-12 season.

"Making the conference tournament is always the goal at the beginning of the season and we've accomplished that," said Williams. "Next week a new season starts, the post- season. Securing the 3rd seed in the East Division was big for us and we are excited for the opportunity in front of us."

Williams' team produced a breakout season with a roster mixed with four seniors and several newcomers. The Eagles led the conference in free throw percentage, hitting 376-of-497 (75.7%) over 25 games. The Eagles rank sixth in the conference in field goal percentage.

The winner of the tournament earns an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship.
