Eagles Top McMurry To Gain Conference Win

THE BASICS
The Eagles snapped a 14-game conference losing streak with a 81-75 win over McMurry University Thursday night. The Eagles led 37-29 at halftime and had a balanced scoring attack with four starters in double figures. Kerigan Bradshaw led the way with 18 points, while Hannah Weatherford scored 17. Kelsey Dixson had 12 points and Kamryn McKinney finished with 11. The Eagles made a strong push in the second quarter to gain momentum of the game. Leading 27-25 at the 3:38 mark of the second quarter, the Eagles finished the final three minutes on a 10-4 run. Bradshaw scored seven of the team's points during that stretch. The Eagles never let go of the lead after that. McMurry did cut the deficit to one point with less than four minutes to play, but the Eagles countered with timely baskets.

The Eagles will host Hardin-Simmons University February 22 to wrap up the season. Saturday's game against Hardin-Simmons will be Senior Day. Seniors will be honored between games that day.
