THE BASICS
Concordia University Texas slipped past the Eagles 68-56 in each team's American Southwest Conference season-opener Thursday night. Concordia led by a narrow margin in the first half (33-32) and went into the fourth quarter leading 51-44. Kerigan Bradshaw hit back-to-back shots to pull the Eagles within 51-50 with 6:05 left in the game. Trailing by two points with less than four minutes remaining, the Eagles struggled to find the basket the rest of the way. Concordia went on a 9-2 run in the final two minutes of the game to secure the win. The Eagles hit 21 free throws in the contest, but made only 1-of-9 from the three-point line. Bradshaw scored 15 points to lead the team. Faith Curry added 14 points and Kamryn McKinney scored 12. Kelsey Dixson pulled down ten rebounds.
