THE BASICS
Mary Hardin-Baylor broke open a close game in the first half and used waves of substitutes en route to a 75-57 win over the Eagles Saturday in American Southwest Conference play. The Crusaders led just 23-16 late in the first half, but finished with a 8-2 run to gain a 31-18 halftime lead. The Eagles struggled from the field in the third quarter hitting just 28 percent. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles made 33 percent and scored 25 points, but it was too late. The Crusaders continued to use waves of substitutes to wear down the Eagles in the second half. Kerigan Bradshaw sparked the Eagles with 22 points. The Crusaders limited the Eagles to a 27 percent shooting clip in the game and held a 48-29 rebound advantage.
