THE BASICS
Sul Ross State jumped out to a 24-4 first quarter lead and never let the Eagles back into the game as the Lobos cruised to a 81-49 win Thursday night in American Southwest Conference play. After a slow start, the Eagles did outscore the Lobos in the second quarter 14-11 but still trailed 35-18 at halftime. The Lobos opened the second half with back-to-back three-pointers and the Eagles never recovered. Kamryn McKinney led the Eagles with 17 points. She pulled down five rebounds and hit two three-pointers.
