THE BASICS
Hardin-Simmons University jumped out to a 26-19 first quarter lead and a 47-28 halftime lead en route to a 72-53 win over the Eagles Thursday night. Hardin-Simmons hit 20 field goals in the first half to establish momentum. The Eagles had trouble climbing back into the game in the second half as they faced a deficit all night. Brittney Sain led the Eagles with 16 points and seven rebounds.
