THE BASIC
The Eagles used a strong defensive effort and a big first half lead to open the 2021-2022 season with a 65-51 road win over Hendrix College Friday night. It was head coach Shauna Watson's debut leading the Ozarks' program and the Eagles didn't disappoint. The Eagles' defense locked in and forced 24 turnovers and limited Hendrix to a 29 percent clip from the field. The Eagles grabbed a lead midway through the first half and never looked back holding a double-digit advantage for most of the game. The Eagles' pressing defense never allowed Hendrix to find any offensive rhythm as Ozarks held a 39-23 halftime lead. In the second half, the Warriors made a few runs in the third quarter to climb within single digits. But the Eagles responded and held a double-digit lead the entire fourth quarter. Kerigan Bradshaw hit four three-pointers and finished with a team-high 25 points. Faith Curry added 14 points for the Eagles.
