THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark.– The Eagles started slow but finished strong taking a dominating 80-57 conference win against Howard Payne University Saturday. Howard Payne started the game owning a 15-9 lead, but the Eagles battled back and took a 20-18 advantage on a Stevie Perkins' jumper with 2:35 left in the first quarter. From there, the Eagles never lost the lead and went on to a 43-31 halftime advantage. McKenzie Greeson sparked the Eagles in the first half with 14 points. She hit four from the three-point line. The Eagles expanded their lead to 24 points in the second half. Judy Forbes was big inside for the Eagles pulling down 18 rebounds. Behind Forbes, the Eagles outrebounded Howard Payne 54-35. Kerigan Bradshaw was a key offensive player again as she scored 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the floor. Greeson finished with 17 points and made 5-of-7 from long-range. Both Forbes and Perkins recorded double-doubles. Forbes had ten points and 18 rebounds, while Perkins had 16 points and ten rebounds.
