Clarksville, Ark. – National Champion clay target shooter Grace Brown has been named the University of the Ozarks assistant volunteer women's and men's clay target coach, it was announced by the athletics department this week.
    
Brown, a native of Booneville, Ark., helped establish the women's and men's clay target teams as one of the premier NCAA Division III programs in the country over the last four years. Brown won back-to-back national championships at the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Collegiate Clay Target Championships. In 2017, she won the school's first national championship by capturing the International Bunker trap title. In 2018, she won the International Trap national championship.

Brown, who has won titles at numerous Arkansas ACUI events during her collegiate career, will assist with trap shooting and international bunker.

"I am thankful Grace will continue to be a part of our program," said head coach Caleb Hemphill. "Her knowledge of the shooting world will help us tremendously. She can speak from experience because she has competed and won at the highest level. She knows what it takes to win events. She will be able to motivate our shooters. She is the type of coach that is always positive."

Brown is employed as an elementary school teacher at Johnson Country Westside. She graduated from Ozarks in May with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

"I am really excited to be back at the place I've called home for the past four years," she said. "I'm thrilled to be a part of this amazing program and have the chance to work within it as a coach. I'm happy to be able to help this team and do what I can to make this year successful."
