Clay Target Team Captures Eagle Shootout Title

The women's and men's clay target team captured the 2019 Eagle Shootout team title.

The University of the Ozarks women's and men's clay target team won the Eagle Shootout title Saturday in Clarksville.
     
The Eagles topped University of Arkansas, Arkansas Tech and Connors State for the team title. Junior Ashton Huffstutlar and Zane Arnold placed second and third, respectively, individually. Huffstutlar had 69 points, which trailed the winner, who had 73 points. Arnold won a shoot-off for third place with 66 points. The Eagles had seven of the top-10 finishers at the event.

As a team, the Eagles recorded a score of 330, while University of Arkansas had 297 for second place.  

The Eagles will hit the road for the entire month of March, first competing in the Tundra Shootout in Missouri. The Eagles will then travel to Oklahoma for the Oklahoma State Cowboy Shootout. The final stop will be at ACUI Nationals in San Antonio March 25-30.
