Clay Target Team Wins Third Straight Team Spring Championship

The Eagles won their third consecutive shootout of the spring season.

Arcadia, Okla. – The University of the Ozarks women's and men's clay target team won their third consecutive championship of the spring season over the weekend.
     
The Eagles won the Oklahoma State University Cowboy Shootout hosted by OSU March 9-10. The Eagles topped Kansas State University, University of Missouri, Colorado State University, University of Colorado and Connors State for the team title. Several individuals took home trophies for the Eagles. Shelby Skaggs won the HOA on the women's side with 297, while Charles Priddy was the HOA on the men's side with 318. Skaggs was also the top shooter in high trap with 90. Additionally, Priddy clenched the HOA for trap doubles with 94. Tristian Leonard was the HOA in trap scoring a 97.

The top-5 scorers for the Eagles in skeet, trap, five-stand and trap doubles included Priddy (318), Mason Malin (307), Clayton Villines (304), Dustin Robertson (301) and Zane Arnold (300).

As a team, the Eagles recorded a score of 1530, while Connors State had 1523 for second place. The Eagles had the highest team scores in skeet, trap and five-stand.

The OSU Cowboy Shootout title follows the University of the Ozarks Eagle Shootout win February 24 and a championship at the Tundra Shootout in Missouri March 3.

The Eagles will hit the road for the ACUI Nationals in San Antonio March 25-30.
