The Lower Midwest Region includes 17 total schools. Buena Vista University, Central College, Coe College, University of Dubuque, Loras College, Luther College, Nebraska Wesleyan, Simpson College, Wartburg College, Augustana College, Cornell College (independent), Huntingdon College (independent), MacMurray (independent), University of the Ozarks (independent), Millikin University, North Central College and Westminster (independent) are in the regional competition this year.

"We are obviously very excited," said head coach LeRoy Gardner. "This is my favorite time of the year. The guys are ready to harvest the work they've put in. The preparation started back in October. We are looking forward to the guys putting to use the training we've done. I want them to commit to the fight. We've talked to the guys about being in the fight for as long as it takes. This is the best regional in the country and if you make it out you are in a good spot to become an All-American and a national champion."
