Wrestling Team Aims For Success At NCAA III Regional This Weekend

The Eagles will wrestle in the Lower Midwest Regional in Iowa for a chance to qualify for the NCAA III National Championships.

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks wrestling team will compete in the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional Championships February 23-24 at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

The Eagles head into the Regional having won their last five duals and have two wrestlers ranked by d3wrestle.com. Last season, head coach LeRoy Gardner's team finished among the top-8 in what is considered the toughest NCAA III Reigonal in the country. The University of the Ozarks held a Press Conference for the Event: Facebook

The event serves as the qualifier for 17 regional schools with the top-three wrestlers at each weight class advancing to the national championships, hosted by Ferrum College at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia, March 8-9. Live video will be streamed on Trackwrestling.com.

"We want to go and fight hard," said head coach LeRoy Gardner. "We want people to know what Ozarks is about. I believe this region puts out the most NCAA All-Americans and the defending champions are in it, so we are real excited about the chance to go after those guys. We would have it no other way. We want to go up against the toughest guys in the nation. But like I said earlier in the season, we are in that group, too."

Tickets are available as single-day and two-day options along with adult and student/senior rates. All tickets are general admission and non-seat specific. Tickets: TicketMaster.com
