LeTourneau’s Lone Goal Enough For Win Over Lady Eagles

Clarksville, Ark.-LeTourneau University scored the game-winning goal in the 57th minute to top the Lady Eagles 1-0 Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

The Lady Eagles (2-10-1, 0-3-0 ASC) created scoring opportunities on the attack throughout the match, but could never put one in the back of the net. LeTourneau (4-5-1, 1-2-0 ASC) had a strong first half compiling eight shots and three corner kicks. But Ozarks held the YellowJackets scoreless through the first 45 minutes of play. Ozarks had an improved second half as it recorded nine shots, including four on frame. The Lady Eagles had three solid chances of scoring, but each attempt went wide. The first came when Brittanie Gragg took a shot in the 55th minute, but it sailed past the post. Kanisha Eckart followed with another shot attempt that just missed the frame in the 84th minute. The final opportunity came with only 10 seconds left when Frances Adams put one toward the goal, but couldn't get it between the pipes.
    
Mary Eoff had five saves for Ozarks in goal. Adams totaled four shots.
    
Ozarks will travel to Abilene, Texas, to face McMurry University October 10.
