Louisiana College Uses First Half Lead To Upend Lady Eagles

Pineville, La.-The Louisiana College women's soccer team lead 2-0 at halftime, but then had to fend off an Ozarks' rally in the second half to hold onto a 4-2 win over the Lady Eagles in American Southwest Conference play Friday.

Louisiana College (1-10-0, 1-4-0 ASC) would take a 2-0 lead in the first half and then tally another goal in the second half to hold a 3-0 advantage. Ozarks (3-11-1, 0-4-0 ASC) countered with a goal from Mary Eoff in the 70th minute to cut it to 3-1. After another Louisiana College score, Lia Thomas scored on a penalty kick in the 88th minute to make it 4-2. But Ozarks' rally ended there. The Lady Eagles tallied 14 shots in the match, including ten of those in the second half.

Ozarks will travel to Marshall, Texas, to face East Texas Baptist University Saturday. A pregame party with U of O President Richard Dunsworth will be held at JUCY'S from 10:00 am - 11:30 am.
