Brownwood, Texas-Howard Payne University scored a late goal to secure a 1-0 American Southwest Conference win over the Eagles Thursday afternoon in Texas.

Ozarks (6-8-1, 3-4-1 ASC) had a strong performance on the field only to have Rachel Crane find the back of the net on a header in the 88th minute. The Eagles owned advantages in shots (12-7), shots on goal (9-5) and corner kicks (8-5), but were unable to score. Ozarks put up six shots in the first half, while allowing only two. The Eagles continued to put pressure on Howard Payne (4-9-1, 2-6-1 ASC) in the second half, recording six shots and forcing goalkeeper Nicole Goodwin to make five saves.

Tiffany Robinson had a team-best three shots in the match. Kiara Henry had four saves in goal.
   
Ozarks will now turn its attention to Texas Dallas. The Eagles face the Comets October 22 in Richardson, Texas.
