Women’s Soccer Team Knocked Out Of Playoff Contention

Clarksville, Ark.-Concordia University Texas put the women's soccer team out of playoff contention with a 1-0 win Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

The Eagles end the season with a 6-10-2 overall record and a 3-6-2 mark in ASC play. Six wins are the most since 2013.

Neither team was able to generate much of an offensive attack in the first half. The teams combined for just one corner kick and five shots. With the score tied 0-0 at the half, Concordia (8-6-1, 6-5-0 ASC) created six second half shots, but none bigger than Madi Timmons' goal in the 65th minute. Timmons' game-winning goal came in the box on a great ball from Vanessa Lecocq. Ozarks goalkeeper Kiara Henry posted three saves in the second half.

Seniors Frances Adams, Maggie Johnson, Alex Lewis and Tiffany Robinson played their final game for Ozarks and were honored following the match as part of Senior Day.
