THE BASICS
The Eagles ran into a tough Hardin-Simmons University team falling 3-0 in the American Southwest Conference quarterfinals Thursday in Texas. It is the second post-season appearance in program history for the Eagles, both coming under head coach Natalie Dreyer. The Cowgirls seemed to be on the attack all match as they fired off 16 shots each half. The Eagles hung in the match as they trailed 1-0 at the half. In the second half, the Cowgirls scored in the 63rd minute and then followed with a penalty kick in the 67th minute to put pressure on the Eagles' offensive attack. The Eagles were unable to score as Hardin-Simmons controlled the pace of the match. The Cowgirls recorded 15 corner kicks. The loss wrapped up the final match for the senior class.
