Ozarks Hits the Pool at Hendrix Invitational

Conway, Ark.- The University of the Ozarks women's and men's swim programs spent Friday night and Saturday competing in the Hendrix Invitational.

The Eagles faced off against six other schools. Head Coach David DeGeus had this to say about the two-day event.

"The Eagles swim team did very well this weekend with every swimmer dropping time in their races," he said. "We faced tough opposition from the NCAA III conference opponents (SCAC & SAA) as well as NAIA teams.  Many of the teams had tapered for the meet so they gave us good competition. I am excited to see what we will do after we up our training in January."

Arielle Burfine finished 16th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 28.58. Jake Sawyer swam a 24:89 in the 50-yard freestyle to finish 21st.

The Eagles will not be back in the pool until 2017. They will continue their inuagural season January 7, at Austin College.
