Vire, Jones Named SCAC Swimmers of the Week

Paige Vire and Jacob Jones were named the SCAC Swimmers of the Week.

University of the Ozarks freshman Paige Vire and junior Jacob Jones were named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Swimmers of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday (Jan. 15).  
     
Vire, a native of Clarksville, Ark., picked up a pair of victories in the Eagles' dual with Hendrix College winning the 200 and 50 breast in 2:39.11 and 32.72, respectively. 

Jones, a native of Longview, Texas, was a triple-winner on Saturday in the Eagles' dual with Hendrix. Jones anchored the winning 200 medley relay completing his leg of the race in 21.87. Jones also picked up wins in the 200 and 100 free finishing in 1:48.64 and 48.96, respectively.

Ozarks will compete in the Henderson State University Dual January 19 in Arkadelphia.

Ozarks joins Austin College,Centenary College,Colorado College,McMurry University, Southwestern Universityand Trinity University as swimming members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
