Records Fall On Day One Of SCAC Championships

Records fell at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships last night.

Garland, Texas-The women's and men's swim team had a record-breaking day at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Wednesday night.

Three team records were set and two individual records were set.

The men's 800 relay team broke the previous school record posting a 7:17.06. The team was made up of Joel Coppernoll, Nicolai Van Zyl, Isaiah Dial and Ethan Spillers. The women's 200 medley relay posted a school record of 1:58.37. The team consisted of Rosie Wade, Emily Spillers, Catherine Wellborn and Faith Coffin. The women's 800 free team set a new program record with a time of 8:27.78. The team was made up of Wade, Spillers, Shalley Coffin and Faith Coffin

Wade set a new record in the 50 back. Wade additionally broke her own 200 free record.

After one day, the women stand in sixth place with 70 points. The men are in fifth place with 72 points.
