Rachel White was named the assistant tennis coach.

Clarksville, Ark. – Rachel White has been named the University of the Ozarks assistant women's and men's tennis coach, it was announced by the athletics department this week.

White, a native of North Richland Hills, Texas, played two seasons at Arkansas Tech University where she helped the program to a Great American Conference Championship the 2011-12 season. White posted a 17-4 singles record and earned All-Conference honors that season. White has served as a tennis pro at the Fort Smith Athletic Club and as a tennis instructor at the Richland Tennis Center (Texas) and in the Russellville area. White was a junior USTA ranked player as a High School athlete.

"We are excited to add a coach of Rachel's caliber," said head coach Jeff Kutac. "Her collegiate playing experience as well as her coaching background will benefit our program. Rachel's energy and knowledge of the game has made an immediate impact on our program."

White received her bachelor's degree in history and secondary education from Arkansas Tech in 2013.

"I am grateful to be a part of the U of O family and can't thank the coaching staff and players enough for making me feel welcome from the start," said White. "I'm especially thankful for the opportunity to work with Coach Kutac. I've learned so much from him already and I look forward to helping our tennis program grow."

The women's program has qualified for the conference championship tournament the past three seasons, while the men have advanced to the championship tournament the past five seasons.

The Eagles compete in one of the premier tennis centers in NCAA Division III, a new multi-million dollar complex completed in July. The Alexander-Boreham Tennis Center includes eight lighted courts, along with state-of-the-art "smart technology" courts from PlaySight, a building housing a concession area, bathrooms and storage. The courts have video streaming capabilities and teaching technology designed to enhance the player, coach, and spectator experience.
