Track Team Competes In Day One Of ASC Championships

Abilene, Texas-The women's and men's track team competed in the American Southwest Conference Championships Friday at Hardin-Simmons University.

Day two of the Championships will begin Saturday morning with field events and the 5000-meter at 9:00 a.m.

In the men's 100-meter, Jacob Williams advanced to the finals tomorrow with a time of 11.06. That placed him seventh in his heat. Michael Luster and Josue Oviedo ran the in the same heat, running a 12.59 and 12.93, respectively.

In the women's 400-meter, Jacquelyn Vaden posted a time of 1:09.32 for 13th place. In the 200-meter, Vaden placed 19th with a time of 26.69. Luster ran the men's 400-meter in 52.54 and Tyler O'Banion finished with a time of 1:00.14. Luster placed 21st in the 200-meter with a time of 23.56. O'Banion ran a 26.31 and Oviedo ran a 28.00. In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Jonathon Wood placed third with a time of 11:01.35.
